Leaky gut is when the lining of the small intestine has become permeable. Food particles can then exit out of the lining of the small intestine and get directly into your bloodstream kind of like poking holes in a Ziploc bag with a toothpick!
Whether you’re struggling with cancer or diabetes, acne, allergies, asthma, IBS, IBD, or any of those other letters I don’t even know about, addressing leaky gut and biofilms is KEY!!!
Health Hack #2 is addressing leaky gut and Biofilms!
Biofilms are a slimy sludge that bacteria, mold, fungus, and other microbes form over the top of themselves to protect themselves in kind of like a cocoon and then they harbor, yeast, mold, bacteria, viruses, undigested food particles, and toxins. Biofilms are often antibiotic resistant, and super hard to get rid of. Read more about BIOFILMS HERE.
This image of the small intestine shows multitude of health issues can occur when we don’t address those pathogens and toxins. We have trillions of villi and microvilli within the lining of the small intestine. The job of the villi and microvilli are to be light and flowy and to absorb the nutrition out of our food as the food passes through. But when we’re eating things that are inflammatory or we haven’t addressed those biofilms, those villi and microvilli begin to get matted down and crushed like an old carpet. Our food begins to pass through without being properly digested. We are not getting the nutrients out of our food the way that we should be, and we begin to become nutrient deficient. Nutrient deficiencies are always part of the equation when we have chronic health issues going on.
If this scenario goes on long enough, we begin to have a pulling apart of the lining of the small intestine. This scenario is often referred to as leaky gut. In functional medicine we would say that is the root cause of any chronic and degenerative disease. Also, 75 to 80% of our immune system lies within the lining of the small intestine, and our hormones feed off the good bacteria in the gut. So, more reason to focus on gut health! More to come on those topics soon!
Before addressing nutrient deficiencies, it is important to address the underlying gut issues. The number one place to start with supporting leaky gut is to start eating cleaner. That was health hack number one. The second thing to focus on is addressing those antibiotic resistant biofilms.
Government research and lots of other research studies have shown that essential oils are a great way to break down biofilms.
The Daily Digest Blend is a blend 14 different botanicals. Great for supporting better digestion, gentle daily detoxification, increasing enzyme production, and so much more. Apply one to five drops into the naval or to the bottom of the feet. It absorbs right into your bloodstream. Great for daily long-term use. If hives, diarrhea, nausea, stomach upset, or if the stools are soft and mushy then use the Rescue Me Blend first using the same method. Both blends will help to support the biofilms and gut health. Directions are on each individual bottle.
The Warrior Strong Blend has 12 different antimicrobial oils and can be incorporated after a couple of days. It is always important to start one oil blend at a time to make sure each blend is agreeing with you. Often people incorporate several new oil blends at once and it is too much for the body to handle all at once. Or if one oil blend is not agreeable, you don’t know which one blend it is. The Warrior Strong is great for balancing yeast and other gut microbes, immune support, chronic infections, and sugar cravings. Apply to your neck and lymph node area, one to four drops daily for 2 to 4 weeks. Repeat if needed. This blend is not meant for long term continual use.
Our fourth biofilm blend is the Anointed Blend. The oils in this blend are known to support against viruses and parasites. This formula is also supportive for many conditions such as thyroid, lung and heart support, cholesterol, blood sugar, and weight management.
See each of our 12 health supportive blends and decide which are the best for the symptoms you have going on!
